Mission Statement

The mission of the Topeka Police Credit Union is to provide quality service and products to maximize the financial well-being of our members, while operating in a sound manner with honesty and integrity.

History of the Topeka Police Credit Union

1952

The Topeka Police Credit Union was Chartered February 12, 1952 by a small number of Police Officers who wanted to start a Credit Union to help Police Officers and their immediate families. The Credit Union started business on April 13, 1952.

The Charter Members were:
C. S. Crank, President - E. E. Sailer, Treasurer - C. L. Shields, Secretary - O. M. Parker
J. E. Cardwell - A. J. Murray - A. W. Coleman

In June of 1952 the asset size of the Credit Union was $3,690.42 with a total of 88 members and on December 31, 1952 paid a 3% Dividend.

1962

In 1962 the asset size was $99,510.83 with 309 members and on December 31, 1962 paid a 5% Dividend.

The Board of Directors were:
J. Weinkauf, President - F. Ginder, Vice President - E. Volz, Secretary - K. Owens, Treasurer - R. Martin

The Chairman of the Credit Committee was E. Bennet and the Chairman of the Supervisory Committee was V. Whisler.

1972

In 1972 the asset size was $339,375.53 with a total of 415 members and on December 31, 1972 paid a 6% Dividend.

The Board of Directors were:
R. Rundell, President - M. Bartlett, Vice President - E. Volz, Treasurer - L. Stanley, - Secretary J. Smith

The Chairman of the Credit Committee was Ed Bozarth and the Chairman of the Supervisory Committee was R. Weinkauf.

1982

In 1982 the asset size was $394,653.20 with a total of 473 members and on December 31 1982 paid a 6% and 9% Dividend.

The Board of Directors were:
G. Ochoa, President - J. Solis, Vice President - M. Innis, Secretary - D. Bonar, Treasurer
R. Weinkauf

The Chairman of the Credit Committee was T. Bird and of the Supervisory Committee W. Beightel.

1992

In 1992 the asset size was $3,497,262.35 with a total of 770 members and on December 31, 1992 paid a 4% and 4.25% Dividend.

The Board of Directors were:
D. Tegethoff, President - L. Wonnell, Vice President - K. Blodgett, Secretary - D. Bonar, - Treasurer L. William

The Chairman of the Credit Committee was L. Kelsey and of the Supervisory Committee W. Beightel.

2002

In 2002 the asset size was $5,676,266.48 with a total of 978 members and on December 31, 2002 paid a 1.25% and 1.75% Dividend.

Current Board of Directors are:
S. Huddleston, President - K. Cochran, Vice-President - J. Sams, Secretary D. Bonar, Tresurer - R. Whitehead - S. Harsha - M. Padilla

The current Chairman of the Credit Committee is W. Cochran and of the Supervisory Committee D. Crenshaw.

2012

In 2012 the asset size was $7,171,901.65 with a total of 1,203 members and on December 31, 2012 paid a 0.35% to 1.10% Dividend depending on which Share Certificate you have.

B. Beightel – Member, L. Feyh – Member, K. Hren – Member, T. Walter – Member

The current Chairman of the Credit Committee is S. McGinley and the Supervisory Committee is B. Holly.
