Topeka Police Credit Union
Overdraft Protection (Privilege) Policy

Eligibility

Your account will be in good standing with the Credit Union, if you meet the following conditions.

  • You are not considered delinquent on any loan or any other obligation to the Credit Union.
  • You continue to make regular deposits.
  • You will bring your account balance positive from the date of the overdraft within 30 days.
  • You do not exceed your pre-determined Overdraft Privilege limit.

Overdraft Protection will be restricted on specially designated accounts such as trust and organization accounts.  Overdraft Protection will be applied to just one checking account per member.

Limit of Overdraft Protection

Your Overdraft Privilege limit will be at the result of using checks, deposits, ACH (electronic) deposits and withdrawals, debit card and ATM transactions.  These items will be paid in the order they are presented to the Credit Union. The Overdraft Protection fee (as stated in our current Rate and Fee Schedule) will be assessed to your checking account for each item paid.  You must bring your checking account balance to a positive balance within 30 days from the date of the first overdraft occurrence.  If you have monies in your savings, the monies will be transferred to your checking account automatically and no fee will be charged.

Any overdraft policy, agreement, or procedure represents a purely discretionary courtesy or privilege that the Credit Union may provide to you from time to time and which may be withdrawn or withheld by the Credit Union at any time without prior notice to you and without reason or cause.
